Puppy play biting is the most requested behavior issue to fix with puppies. Follow these guidelines in this video for tips. Don't allow it to get out of control for too long or the behavior will continue to be reinforced, similar to jumping, barking, and chewing.
Tip #1
Start teaching this to your puppy right away. When puppy starts to nibble on your hand or arms, try to use a high pitch sound to startle the puppy or use the command "leave-it" in a firm tone.
Tip #2
Stop reinforcing the behavior by allowing the puppy to get over excited and over stimulated. At this point you should consider placing the puppy in a time out, either in the crate or away from people on his bed.
Tip #3
Teach puppy not to play bite only then they are clam, not when they are highly aroused. Dog's learn better when they are relaxed and focused.
