Here is a very simple and effective method of putting the leash on the dog when they resist. Chasing them is not very effective. Recall (come command) only works if they know the command.
Here I am using food (one piece of kibble) to lure them over to me, and while they are focused on eating the food I discretely put the leash on the collar. This way there is no tension or resistance, creating a more relaxed and effective walk.
